The orange (amber) color next to the instrument selector name in Replikanto, or in NinjaTrader ChartTrader or SuperDOM, indicates that the market data feed from your broker is delayed. A small clock icon may appear next to the instrument name alongside the color.
What it means
- Your Replikanto configuration is correct
- The price data coming from your broker is not real-time
- Trade copying will still work, but with delayed price information
Because the prices on screen lag behind the real market, a fill can look wrong when it was not. The price you were watching was simply already stale.
How to resolve it
1. Restart NinjaTrader first
The indicator often clears on its own after a full restart, because the data connection is re-established from scratch. Close NinjaTrader completely, reopen it, and check the instrument again. It may take more than one restart before the color clears.
2. If it persists, contact your data provider
Contact your broker or prop firm support team and let them know you are seeing delayed market data. They can check your data subscription and connection status on their end. Name the specific contracts affected, for example MES and MNQ, rather than only asking whether the exchange is enabled.
It can affect some contracts and not others
The indicator applies per instrument, not to the whole connection. It is normal to see one contract delayed while another from the same exchange is real-time on the same account, for example MES and MNQ delayed while NQ and M2K are live.
To tell whether the problem follows the instrument or the account, open the affected contracts on an account where other instruments are real-time, then open the working contracts on the affected account. Whichever way the indicator travels identifies the cause.
Note: This is different from the yellow circle on a follower account, which indicates the follower is out-of-sync with the leader. The amber instrument color specifically relates to market data feed status.
