This article answers whether you need to reinstall Replikanto after you update NinjaTrader 8.
No, starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0. One Replikanto build runs on every NinjaTrader 8 version, so updating NinjaTrader does not require reinstalling or re-downloading Replikanto. It keeps working after the NinjaTrader update, with no reconfiguration.
Why this changed
Replikanto 1.6.1.7 and earlier used a third-party grid library (Infragistics) that ships with NinjaTrader and changes between NinjaTrader releases, so each Replikanto build only worked on a range of NinjaTrader versions. Starting with 1.7.0.0, the follower and remote-node grids were rebuilt in house without that library, so a NinjaTrader update no longer breaks Replikanto.
If you are on Replikanto 1.6.1.7 or earlier
The old rule still applies to those versions: each build supports a range of NinjaTrader versions, shown as "for NinjaTrader X+" (for example, Replikanto 1.6.1.7 is built for NinjaTrader 8.1.7+ and works on NinjaTrader 8.1.8 with no reinstall). If NinjaTrader is updated beyond that range, Replikanto stops loading.
Instead of tracking that range, update to Replikanto 1.7.0.0 once:
- Download the latest Replikanto .zip file from the FlowBots downloads page. It is one file for every NinjaTrader 8 version.
- Install it via Control Center > Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On.
- Restart NinjaTrader.
After that, NinjaTrader updates no longer require a Replikanto reinstall.
Column layouts reset once after updating to 1.7.0.0
The first time you open Replikanto 1.7.0.0, the follower and remote-node grids start with the default column layout: saved column widths, order, visibility and sort order reset once. Your followers and the rest of your settings are kept. Arrange the columns again and save the workspace.
