How do I keep Replikanto running on an inactive workspace?

Replikanto has a safety option called "Prevent copying in an inactive workspace". It is enabled by default. While it is enabled, Replikanto stops copying trades whenever its window is running on an inactive (background) NinjaTrader workspace. To keep Replikanto copying on a workspace that is not the visible one, this feature must be disabled.

Symptoms

• Replikanto copies trades normally while its workspace is on screen, but stops as soon as you switch to another workspace.
• The workspace holding Replikanto shows a grey box in the Workspaces menu (running in the background, not visible) instead of a green one.

How to disable copy prevention

1. Right-click anywhere inside the Replikanto window
2. Click Properties...
3. In the Properties window, look under the General section
4. Uncheck "Prevent copying in an inactive workspace"

Right-click the Replikanto window > Properties...

Note: You need to do this on the Replikanto window running on the inactive workspace where you want copying to continue. Each Replikanto tab keeps its own settings, so changing one tab does not change the others: repeat this on every tab that must keep copying.

How workspaces interact with Replikanto

• Workspaces allow users to save custom window layouts.
• Multiple workspaces can be open simultaneously. A green box next to a workspace's name indicates that it is currently open and visible. A grey box indicates that the workspace is running in the background, but is not visible, though calculations for its open windows continue to run.
• Use SHIFT + F3 to quickly toggle between open workspaces.
• To optimize performance, it is recommended to close any unneeded background workspaces.
• When shutting down the platform, ensure that only the Control Center is closed, and avoid closing any other windows beforehand.
• When a workspace is saved, Replikanto will save its entire current configuration, so the next time NinjaTrader is opened, it will load exactly as it was last saved.

Make the change stick across restarts

Add-on settings are stored inside the workspace, so the unchecked option only survives a restart if the workspace is saved after you change it.

1. After unchecking the option, save the workspace from Workspaces > Save, or exit NinjaTrader through File > Exit, which saves automatically.
2. Do not rely on the red X to close windows — it closes them without saving the workspace.

If a workspace is incorrectly saved, NinjaTrader retains up to ten versions of recovery workspaces, which can be restored via Tools > Database Management > Restore.
