If Replikanto has disappeared from your NinjaTrader workspace — the indicator, add-on, or window no longer appears, or NinjaTrader shows the license as invalid — the cause is almost always one of four things: a machine ID change; Replikanto not being loaded with the workspace; on Replikanto 1.6.1.7 or earlier, a NinjaTrader update that stopped the installed add-on from loading; or Replikanto closing itself because of its license. Work through the causes below in order.
Cause 1: A machine ID change invalidated your license
Replikanto's license is tied to your NinjaTrader machine ID. Changes to your computer's BIOS/UEFI version, a Windows operating system update, or a firmware update can change that machine ID, which invalidates the license. When this happens, NinjaTrader shows a window on startup indicating the license is invalid.
- Go to the License Manager page and update the machine ID.
- There is a 2-hour waiting period after a machine ID change before you can change it again.
- Restart NinjaTrader after updating the machine ID.
- If Replikanto still doesn't work, send a screenshot of the invalid license window when you contact support.
See How do I change my license's Machine ID? for the full steps.
Cause 2: Replikanto wasn't loaded with the NinjaTrader workspace
Replikanto may simply not have loaded alongside your saved NinjaTrader workspace.
- Try opening it manually: go to New > FlowBots > Replikanto.
- If that window doesn't open, Replikanto may not be installed correctly — repeat the installation steps.
In the Control Center: 1 = New, 2 = FlowBots, 3 = Replikanto.
See How do I install a FlowBots product/add-on? for the installation walkthrough.
Cause 3: You are on Replikanto 1.6.1.7 or earlier and NinjaTrader was updated
Replikanto 1.6.1.7 and earlier were built for a specific range of NinjaTrader versions. When a NinjaTrader update moves outside that range, Replikanto can fail to load or its tab may not open. When this happens, you may see an error message such as Could not load file or assembly when starting NinjaTrader, or a Replikanto Version Mismatch Detected message in the NinjaTrader Log tab.
Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, there is one Replikanto build for every NinjaTrader 8 version, so a NinjaTrader update no longer causes this. To fix it, install Replikanto 1.7.0.0 or later once:
- Download the latest Replikanto .zip from your FlowBots account downloads page. The same file works on every NinjaTrader 8 version.
- In NinjaTrader, go to Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On... and select the downloaded .zip file. Do not extract it first.
- Restart NinjaTrader after the import completes, then open Replikanto from New > FlowBots > Replikanto.
See Which Replikanto .zip file matches my NinjaTrader version? for more about the single Replikanto download.
Cause 4: Replikanto closed itself because of its license
Replikanto checks its license with the FlowBots servers when NinjaTrader starts and again periodically during the session. When the license is refused, or your Replikanto version is no longer supported, Replikanto shows a message, stops copying trades and closes its windows. Positions and orders already open on your follower accounts stay open, and the leader's exits are no longer copied to them, so check your follower accounts in NinjaTrader first. Then read the message:
- If the message starts with This version of Replikanto is no longer supported by the Replikanto servers, update Replikanto to the latest version, then restart NinjaTrader. When a newer version is available for your license, the FlowBots Product Update Notification window opens so you can click Update now. The steps are in Does Replikanto update automatically?
- If the message starts with Replikanto is having problems connecting to its license servers., check your internet connection and any firewall, antivirus or proxy that may be blocking
replikanto.com, then restart NinjaTrader. - If you see another message, or the problem persists, contact FlowBots support by email at support@flowbots.ninja.
The message of the first bullet: this Replikanto version is no longer supported and must be updated.
The message of the second bullet: Replikanto could not reach its license servers.
Internet outage during a session
Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, a brief internet outage during a session no longer closes Replikanto. If the license server cannot be reached during the session, for example because your internet connection is down or the server is unavailable, Replikanto keeps running and copying, and checks the license again at the next check. Replikanto still needs to reach the license server when NinjaTrader starts; if it cannot, it shows the license-servers message above and closes its windows.
On Replikanto 1.6.1.7 or older, if the periodic check could not reach the license server for about 10 minutes, Replikanto closed all its windows and showed the license-servers message. If this happens to you, update to Replikanto 1.7.0.0 or later (the steps in Cause 3 install the latest version).
