Why don't new accounts appear in Replikanto's follower list?

This article explains why an account that NinjaTrader shows can be missing from Replikanto's Follower Accounts list, and how to make it appear.

Symptoms

New accounts show up in NinjaTrader but don't appear on Replikanto's follower selection screen (where you toggle accounts on and off).

Solution

Replikanto adds new accounts on its own: it reloads its account list shortly after any NinjaTrader account or connection changes status, so an account that connects while Replikanto is open (including the accounts of a new connection) appears in the follower list a moment later. You don't need to restart NinjaTrader or reopen Replikanto. Replikanto only lists accounts that are connected, and it doesn't list the tab's own leader account.

1 = Sim104, an account just added in NinjaTrader, in the Control Center Accounts tab; 2 = the same account in Replikanto's Follower Accounts list, added automatically (off until you turn it on); 3 = Sim101 is this tab's leader, so it shows in Leader Account and not in the follower list.

If a new account still doesn't appear:

1. In the NinjaTrader Control Center, disconnect the connection that holds the new accounts and connect it again. The accounts should appear in the follower list a moment after the connection is back.

The new accounts should now appear on the follower selection screen.

Accounts missing right after NinjaTrader starts

In versions before Replikanto 1.7.0.0, a rare fault could leave some accounts out of the Follower Accounts list when NinjaTrader started with the broker already connected (for example, with the connection set to connect automatically on startup). This is fixed in Replikanto 1.7.0.0; update if you still run an older version. On an older version, disconnect and reconnect the connection, or close and reopen the Replikanto window, to reload the list.

If an Account Still Doesn't Appear

If an account still doesn't appear after reconnecting, check the connection:

• Account not connected: Open the Accounts tab in NinjaTrader's Control Center and confirm the account is listed with an active connection. Replikanto only lists accounts from a live connection, so an account that is not connected will not show as a follower until it is.

Control Center: 1 = Accounts tab; 2 = each account with its Connection. Replikanto lists only accounts whose connection is connected.

Prevention

Nothing to do after adding new accounts in NinjaTrader: as soon as they are connected, Replikanto adds them to the follower selection screen automatically, with no restart of NinjaTrader or Replikanto.
