Penalty: “P-Ticket” Error

Initial Steps

Due to the Tradovate API rate limit of 5,000 requests per hour (80 per minute) for the Tradovate/NinjaTrader connection, your account may be assigned a P-Ticket (penalty ticket) status. To avoid this, we do not recommend using trailing stops or multiple price changes in a short period. Pending orders, positions that cannot be canceled, modified or closed must be managed via the broker website if it is the case.

If an attempt is made to exceed the limit, Ninjatrader will notify with a P-Ticket Error:

You may find it helpful to use the Copy Market Orders (Executions) only Replikanto feature, which allows you to copy only the executions to followers, this will significantly reduce the use of the Tradovate API. Contact the broker support team and ask them to increase the API rate limit.
