This error message typically appears when the total number of contracts across all your accounts, including pending and open orders, exceeds the maximum limit set by your broker or prop firm. This can happen even if each order is within contract limits. For example, your leader account may be fully filled, but follower accounts may have open orders due to market conditions, such as insufficient liquidity or the market not reaching your limit price.
To reduce the likelihood of this happening again, make sure to initiate a new trade when all followers have no positions or active orders.
For example, if you use a limit entry order and this order is filled in the leader account, the exit orders are copied to the followers' accounts right after. If the followers' entry orders have not been filled by the market due to insufficient liquidity, this problem can occur because copying the exit orders from the leader account will cause the followers' accounts to exceed the contract limit defined by the broker's Risk Management System (RMS). To solve this, you should use:
ATM Copy: This manages follower exit orders using NinjaTrader's ATM strategy only after the entry order is filled by the market, but you need to place trades within NinjaTrader Desktop and must use ATM Strategy.
Market Only (Copy Executions Only): This option will only copy the leader executions to the followers, so you will never be facing the error of having the maximum order quantity met unless you configure the Replikanto to copy more than the RMS allows. To enable it, look for the Market Copy column in the followers list inside Replikanto. It appears as a lozenge (diamond) icon next to each follower account. Make sure it is checked (enabled) for each account you want to protect.
