Yes. When you move or cancel the stop loss or profit target on the leader account, Replikanto copies that change to the follower accounts, normally within moments. This article explains how it works with ATM Copy off and on, what happens when a stop is moved to a price the market has already passed, what was fixed in Replikanto 1.7.0.0, and the cases where a follower's stop or target may not follow the leader.
With ATM Copy off
Replikanto copies the leader's exit orders, including the stops and targets of a NinjaTrader ATM strategy, to every follower account as orders. When you move the leader's stop or target, Replikanto changes the follower's copy to match; when you cancel it, Replikanto cancels the follower's copy.
The leader's ATM stop was dragged from 6508.25 up to 6510.25. 1 = the leader's stop at its new price, 2 = follower Sim102's copy of it (a plain stop order, ATM Strategy None) moved to the same 6510.25, 3 = ATM Copy off for both followers.
With ATM Copy on
When you select an ATM bracket on your leader account, your followers will automatically use their ATM strategy with the same name. This means you can have multiple ATM strategies with different point spreads, and when you select one on your leader, each follower will automatically apply its own ATM strategy with that same name to manage the exits. Just make sure the ATM Copy column is enabled (green) for each follower in Replikanto.
When you then move or cancel the leader's ATM stop or target, Replikanto applies the same change or cancel to the matching stop or target of each follower's ATM strategy.
The leader's ATM target was dragged from 6520.25 up to 6524.25. 1 = the leader's target at its new price, 2 = follower Sim102's target moved to the same 6524.25, 3 = the follower's own ATM strategy with the same name (ATM 1), 4 = ATM Copy on (green).
Stop moved to a price the market has already passed
This is common with an ATM breakeven or trailing stop in a fast market. Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, with ATM Copy on or off:
- Replikanto holds the change for a fraction of a second, until NinjaTrader accepts or rejects it on the leader.
- If the leader's change was accepted, it is copied, and each follower's stop is placed at that follower's own bid (sell stop) or ask (buy stop) so the broker does not reject it. The follower's stop then normally fills right away, together with the leader's, sometimes a few ticks away from the leader's price.
- If the leader's change was rejected, nothing is copied. The followers keep their previous stop, which is the same stop the leader still has.
- If the market keeps moving and the follower's broker still rejects the change, Replikanto resubmits it at most 2 times. If that fails too, the Log tab shows an Error line starting with
FOLLOWER DESYNC RISK: check that follower's position and stop by hand.
This protection needs a bid/ask price for the follower's instrument in NinjaTrader on the computer that places the follower's orders. Without it, the change is copied as it is, as in earlier versions, and the follower's broker may reject it.
Fixed in Replikanto 1.7.0.0
- After one of the leader's ATM exits had filled (for example, the first target of a two-target ATM), a later cancel or price change of the leader's remaining stop or target was not copied, so the follower kept an order the leader no longer had. Starting with 1.7.0.0 it is copied.
- With Stealth Mode or ATM Copy, after NinjaTrader renamed a leader order, a later change or cancel of it was not copied, so the follower kept a stop or target the leader no longer had. Starting with 1.7.0.0 it is copied.
- Rarely, a move of the leader's stop or target was not copied when it arrived while the follower's copy of that order was still being placed or changed, so the follower's order stayed at its old price. Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0 it is copied.
If you are on an earlier version, check the follower's orders after these situations and move or cancel them by hand, or update to Replikanto 1.7.0.0.
When a change may not reach a follower
- Market Only followers receive only the leader's executions. They have no copied stop or target to move.
- The follower's order already filled or was cancelled before the change arrived. See Orders that cannot be canceled.
- Stealth Mode and a closed Replikanto window: the link between leader and follower orders is held by the open Replikanto window, so changes and cancels made while the window is closed are not copied. Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, reopening the same saved workspace restores that link; otherwise, cancel any orders still active from before the window was closed and start copying again.
After part of a target or stop fills, moving the leader's stop or target to a new price is still copied, so a trailing stop or a breakeven keeps working for the rest of the trade.
After a fast trailing sequence or a partial fill, it is good practice to compare the follower's stop and target with the leader's.
