Stealth Mode: when can leader-follower order links be lost?

This article explains what Replikanto can lose while Stealth Mode is active, when that happens, and how to recover.

What can be lost

The only thing that can be lost is the link between a leader order and its follower orders, and only if you close NinjaTrader or the Replikanto window while there are active leader and follower orders.

Closing the window does not simply discard that link. If there are working orders and Stealth Mode or ATM Copy is on, Replikanto saves the links to a small file for that Replikanto tab when the window closes (starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, in the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\Replikanto folder) and reads them back when you reopen the same saved workspace. The links are lost only if:

• you open a new Replikanto window instead of reopening the saved workspace that contains the original one, or
• the Replikanto window was never saved in a workspace, or that workspace is not reopened.

When that link is gone, Replikanto can no longer mirror what happens to the leader order afterwards:

• Cancellations of the leader order are not copied to the follower orders.
• Price changes (modifications) of the leader order are not copied to the follower orders.

What is not lost

• If there are no active orders when you close the window, nothing is lost.
• Your templates and configuration are not affected — you do not need to reinstall Replikanto or reset your templates.

Why this happens

After NinjaTrader or the Replikanto window restarts, Replikanto can restore these links only from the links file described above, and only the Replikanto window restored from the same saved workspace reads that file back.

How to recover

1. Reopen Replikanto.
2. Cancel any orders that are still active from before the window was closed.
3. Start copying again.

No reinstall and no template reset are required.

How to avoid it

• Keep NinjaTrader and the Replikanto pane open for the whole trading session.
• Before closing either window, make sure there are no active leader or follower orders.
