If your follower accounts are receiving duplicated, doubled, or tripled trades from Replikanto — sometimes seen as duplicate or triplicate orders, double fills, or repeated copies of the same trade — the most common causes are listed below, along with how to fix each one.
Common Causes and Fixes
- Multiple Replikanto windows/tabs: The first thing to verify is that there isn't another Replikanto window or tab open using the same instrument. Check the leader and follower computers for minimized windows, by hovering the mouse over the NinjaTrader icon in the Windows taskbar or system tray.
- Duplicate workspaces: If you do not find another Replikanto window using the same instrument, check if there is another workspace open with Replikanto running. If you find any duplicate windows, close them and try again.
- Test with a limit order: If you still experience trade duplication, place a limit order at a distance from the current bid/ask price, to avoid the order from being filled immediately. Check the NinjaTrader Orders tab to see how many orders are being copied to each follower. If there are two or more orders for the same follower account, it indicates that another Replikanto window or tab is making the copies.
- Multiple broker connections: If you connect your broker account two or more times using different broker connections in NinjaTrader, this will result in order and execution events being duplicated or triplicated, so Replikanto listens for this multiple times, resulting in doubling or tripling the copy. Make sure to have just one broker connection with your broker account in NinjaTrader.
- Pre Allocation with OCO bracket orders (ATM strategy): When using the Pre Allocation method with a quantity of 1 and the leader places an entry order with an OCO bracket (e.g., a stop and a profit target), Replikanto copies all three orders to the follower — 1 contract each. The follower enters 1 contract, but then receives two exit orders (1 contract each). When the first exit fills and closes the position, the second exit order creates a new 1-contract position that has no bracket attached. To avoid this, enable ATM Copy and place orders from NinjaTrader Desktop. With ATM Copy enabled, the follower uses the NinjaTrader ATM Strategy to manage its own exit orders instead of copying them from the leader.
If the Issue Persists
Additional Verification Step
Close all Replikanto windows, then run the limit order test again and check whether that order is being copied to the followers. In this case, the order must not be copied — if it still is, there are still Replikanto windows open somewhere, and you'll need to find and close them.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, contact support for further assistance.
