Replikanto is designed to run on a Windows PC. It is not compatible with MAC computers unless a virtual machine that emulates a Windows PC is used. NinjaTrader, which Replikanto is an add-on for, also requires a Windows PC.
A Virtual Private Server (VPS) can provide a solution if a low latency internet connection is not available. A VPS is a remote computer that can be accessed over the internet, and it can be configured to run a Windows operating system.
Here's how a VPS could be used with Replikanto:
- Install a Windows OS on the VPS: A VPS can be configured to run a Windows operating system, which is required to run NinjaTrader and Replikanto.
- Install NinjaTrader and Replikanto: Once the Windows operating system is set up on the VPS, NinjaTrader and Replikanto can be installed.
- Connect Broker Accounts: Brokerage accounts must be connected to NinjaTrader within the VPS. Replikanto uses the accounts connected to NinjaTrader.
- Run Replikanto: After the setup, Replikanto can be used to copy trades between accounts.
Using a VPS can help provide a more stable connection and reduce latency if your local internet connection is not ideal. Replikanto requires a stable, low-latency connection to ensure trades are copied quickly and accurately. A hardwired internet connection is recommended, as wireless and satellite connections can drop packets or have poor latency. A VPS can provide a more reliable connection for running Replikanto.
