Yes. Replikanto requires that you select exactly the instrument with its current expiration date for trades to copy from your leader account to follower accounts. This requirement applies to futures contracts and other instruments with monthly expirations.
Understanding Instrument Rollover
Futures contracts expire monthly, requiring traders to "rollover" their positions from the expiring contract to the next contract month. During rollover, the instrument symbol changes (for example, from ES 12-26 to ES 03-27).
How Replikanto Handles Rollover
Replikanto offers two ways to manage instrument rollover:
Manual Rollover
If you change the expiration date of your instrument manually, you must update the instrument selection in Replikanto's windows or tabs for each affected account.
Automatic Rollover
When NinjaTrader automatically rolls over an instrument's expiration, Replikanto will automatically rollover the instrument in all windows and tabs that contain that rolled-over instrument. This ensures that your leader and follower accounts stay synchronized without requiring manual updates.
Important Notes
- Leader and follower accounts must have the same instrument selected for trade copying to work
- If instruments do not match, trades will not copy to the affected follower accounts
- Automatic rollover only works when initiated by NinjaTrader's built-in rollover functionality
