To copy trades using different instruments (symbols) with Replikanto, you need to understand that Replikanto requires a separate window or tab for each symbol you want to copy. You cannot copy multiple instruments simultaneously with a single Replikanto tab.
Understanding Multi-Symbol Copying
When you need to copy trades from multiple instruments or symbols, Replikanto runs with several windows or tabs open in parallel. Each tab tracks one leader instrument and copies its trades to the tab's follower accounts, on the same instrument or, with Cross Order, on another size of the same product (for example ES to MES). This design allows for flexible multi-symbol and concurrent copying strategies.
Complete Workflow
Follow these steps to set up copying for multiple instruments:
- Determine your copying needs - Identify which leader instruments you want to copy and which follower accounts should receive the trades
- Open a separate Replikanto tab or window for each leader instrument - Use the methods below to add tabs or duplicate windows
- Configure each tab's leader instrument - Select the appropriate instrument for each tab
- Set up the follower accounts for each tab - Turn on the accounts that should receive the copied trades. They trade the tab's instrument or, with Cross Order, its mini/micro/nano counterpart
- Verify your setup - Ensure each tab has a unique leader instrument to prevent duplicate order replication
Adding Tabs
- Press the "+" tab to create a new Replikanto tab in your window
- In the new tab, change the leader instrument to the symbol you want to copy
- Configure the follower accounts for this tab
Change Leader Instrument
After adding a new tab, the leader instrument can be changed:
1 = Instrument: the new tab's leader instrument (NQ 12-26); 2 = the tab header shows that instrument; 3 = Cross Order: follower Sim103 trades MNQ, the micro of the tab's instrument.
Important Reminder
Always change the instrument in the copied or created tab so that your orders aren't replicated twice.
Duplicating a Window and its Tabs
Tabs can also be duplicated by right-clicking on the original tab, which can be useful if you want to copy all the settings you made in the original tab to a new one:
Example: Copying ES to Multiple Followers
Here's a concrete scenario: You want to copy E-mini S&P 500 (ES) trades to several follower accounts, one of them on the Micro E-mini (MES):
- Open your first Replikanto tab
- Set ES as the leader instrument
- Turn on the follower accounts that should receive the ES trades
- For the account that should trade MES, turn on Cross Order (right-click the left panel > Cross Order) and click its Cross Order square until it shows MES
A follower always trades the tab's instrument or, with Cross Order, another size of the same product (ES, MES or NES). ES trades can't be copied as NQ (E-mini NASDAQ-100) or YM (E-mini Dow Jones) trades: to copy NQ or YM, add a new tab with the "+" button, set NQ or YM as its leader instrument and trade that instrument on the leader account.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Orders replicated twice: Ensure each tab has a unique leader instrument selected. Duplicate leader instruments will cause double-order execution
- Orders not appearing: Verify that each tab's follower accounts are turned on (and, with Cross Order, set to the right counterpart) and that the instrument is active in your NinjaTrader setup
- Missing expected trades: Check that the leader instrument is receiving trades and that the Replikanto connection is active
Advanced Features
For more complex scenarios, you can combine this tab approach with:
- Cross Order feature: Let a follower trade another size of the tab's instrument (mini, micro or nano, for example ES to MES). See How to use Cross Order between Mini, Micro and Nano
- Ratio copy method: Use ratio-based copying when followers need different position sizing
