How do I remove nodes from the Replikanto node list?

Sometimes you need to clean up your node list by removing old, inactive, or no longer needed Replikanto nodes. This is especially common when decommissioning machines, reorganizing your trading setup, or cleaning up after testing Remote Copy configurations.

What Are Replikanto Nodes?

Replikanto nodes represent remote follower machines that you've connected to for Remote Copy trading. Each node in the list is a remote Replikanto instance that you've previously set up to copy your trades to. Keeping your node list clean helps avoid confusion and ensures you're only managing active connections.

When to Remove Nodes

You should consider removing nodes when:

• Decommissioning a machine: You're shutting down a trading computer or server that won't be used anymore
• Cleaning up after testing: You were testing Remote Copy and no longer need those test connections
• Reorganizing your setup: You're changing your trading configuration and some nodes are no longer relevant
• Inactive connections: A node hasn't been used in a long time and you want to declutter the list

Before You Remove a Node

Important considerations:

• Removing a node from the list only removes it from your local display - it does not affect the remote Replikanto installation
• The remote machine will continue running Replikanto normally
• If you remove a follower node, that follower will stop receiving trades from you
• You can always re-add nodes later using their Remote Replikanto ID (or Node IP and Port for a local network node) if needed

How to Remove a Node

The node list (Replikanto Nodes) is shown in Leader Mode, below the follower grid. Local network nodes are listed with their Node IP and Port, remote (internet) nodes with their Remote Replikanto ID.

Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, the node list is a new grid:

1. Click the row of the node you want to remove to select it. If a cell opens for editing, press Esc to close it first: Delete inside a cell being edited only erases text.
2. Press the <DEL> key on your keyboard.

1 = click the node's row to select it (it turns blue); 2 = press Del. The node is removed at once. The italic row at the bottom of each grid is the empty row for adding a new node.

The node is removed at once, with no confirmation message, so check that you selected the right row before pressing Delete. Nodes are removed one at a time: select and delete each node you want to remove. The empty row used to add a new node cannot be deleted.

Replikanto 1.6.1.7 and earlier

Older versions used a different grid. Click the small arrow (►) to the left of the node line you want to remove, then press <DEL>.

A confirmation message appears: "You have selected 1 record for deletion. Choose Yes to delete the record or No to exit". Click Yes to remove the node.

What Happens After Removal?

After removing a node:

• The node disappears from your node list
• If it was a follower node, that remote machine stops receiving trades from you
• The remote Replikanto installation is unaffected - it continues running normally
• You can reconnect later by adding the node again using its Remote Replikanto ID (or Node IP and Port for a local network node)

Troubleshooting

Can't Find the Node List

The node list is part of the Remote Copy configuration in Replikanto. If you're having trouble finding it, check that:

• You're looking in the correct section of the Replikanto interface
• You are not using the Compliance Mode build of Replikanto, which has no node list
• Replikanto is in Leader Mode: the node list is not shown while Network Node Mode (Local Network) or Remote Node Mode (Internet) is checked in the window's right-click menu.
• Hide the node list is not checked in the Replikanto window's right-click menu. Choosing Hide in the node list's own right-click menu also checks it; uncheck it to show the list again. Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0 this item works only in Leader Mode and is disabled (greyed out) in the other modes, where it would have no effect.

Right-click the left panel of the Replikanto window: while Hide the node list is checked, the Replikanto Nodes section is hidden. Click it to uncheck it and show the list again.
