How can I downgrade a FlowBots product/add-on?

To downgrade a FlowBots product or add-on to a previous version, you'll need to install the .zip file for that version. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth downgrade process. A downgrade is always a manual import: the Replikanto Update now button only offers newer versions.

Before You Begin

• Backup your settings: Replikanto keeps its settings (follower accounts, Ratio, leader account, nodes) in your NinjaTrader workspace. Before downgrading, save the workspace (Control Center > Workspaces > Save Workspace) and save your follower list to a file: right-click the Follower Accounts grid and choose Export... (step by step: Export and import the Replikanto follower list). If you need to set the followers up again after the downgrade, use Import... in the same menu, then check each follower: Replikanto 1.6.x cannot read a Cross Order target instrument (such as MES) saved by 1.7.0.0 or later, and that follower comes back with default settings.
• Close all open positions and orders before downgrading Replikanto from 1.7.0.0 or later to 1.6.x: Replikanto 1.7.0.0 and later keep the links between leader and follower orders in the new Documents\NinjaTrader 8\Replikanto folder, and Replikanto 1.6.x does not read that folder. If orders or positions are still open when you downgrade, the older version may not be able to cancel or change the follower orders that were placed before the downgrade.
• Know your current version: Check which version you currently have installed so you can choose the correct previous version.
• Check compatibility: Verify that the previous version is compatible with your current NinjaTrader version and any other add-ons you use. Starting with Replikanto 1.7.0.0, a single Replikanto build runs on every NinjaTrader 8.1.6 or later, but downgrading Replikanto to 1.6.1.7 or older brings back the builds made for specific NinjaTrader versions: check your NinjaTrader version (Control Center > Help > About) and download the .zip made for it, or the Replikanto tab will not open.

To roll Replikanto back to 1.6.1.7, download the .zip made for your NinjaTrader version (Control Center > Help > About). Use the Compliance Mode files only if you use Replikanto Compliance Mode. Important: the build for NinjaTrader 8.1.5.2 or older stops loading once NinjaTrader is updated to 8.1.6 or later. If you update NinjaTrader, install Replikanto 1.7.0.1 or later right after.

Downgrade Steps

1. Download the .zip file for the version you want to install. For Replikanto 1.6.1.7, use the direct links in the Replikanto 1.6.1.7 download links section above. For other versions, use your FlowBots account or the download link in your purchase email, or ask the support team for a specific release.
2. Open NinjaTrader and go to the Control Center window.
3. Remove the version you have installed now: select Tools > Remove NinjaScript Assembly, choose the add-on (for example, Replikanto) and click Remove. If NinjaTrader keeps closing, close it and delete the add-on's .dll (for example, Replikanto.dll) from Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom by hand.
4. Restart NinjaTrader before importing anything.
5. Select Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On....
6. Navigate to and choose the .zip file of the older version you want to install. You don't need to unzip it.
7. You may be prompted with confirmation dialogs. If NinjaTrader says a newer version is already installed, click Yes. Accept all prompts to complete the import.
8. Restart NinjaTrader to complete the downgrade process. This step is critical for the new assembly to load properly.

Important Notes

• Assembly cleanup: After removing a NinjaScript assembly, always restart NinjaTrader before importing a different version. Importing without restarting can cause conflicts and errors.
• Settings compatibility: Settings and configurations from newer versions may not be compatible with older versions. Be prepared to reconfigure your settings after downgrading. For example, if you open and save a workspace in a version older than Replikanto 1.7.1.0, the follower groups and their open or closed state are dropped (the followers and their settings stay), so use Export... before downgrading (the file keeps each follower's custom group in a ninth field that older versions ignore) and Import... after upgrading again.
• License validity: Your license remains valid for previous versions of the product. You do not need a new license to downgrade.
• Licensing form: If the 3rd Party Licensing form appears after the restart, enter FlowBots as the Vendor Name and your User Defined ID, then click Submit.
• Data preservation: Downgrading does not affect your historical trade data, NinjaTrader workspace configurations, or other platform data.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues during or after the downgrade:

• Make sure you completely restarted NinjaTrader after the import.
• Check that you installed the correct version for your license.
• Verify that your NinjaTrader platform version is compatible with the add-on version you're installing.
• Contact FlowBots support if issues persist, providing your license number and the version you're trying to install.
