Note: Replikanto 1.7.0.0 has not been released yet. This article describes a planned/upcoming release — the features below are not yet available in the current version of Replikanto.
What changed
Starting in Replikanto 1.7.0.0, the Cross Order square in the follower grid no longer works as a simple on/off toggle. It now cycles through up to three states each time you click it:
- Off (red) — Cross Order is disabled for this follower.
- First crossed instrument (green) — the follower trades the first available crossed instrument for the leader's product.
- Second crossed instrument (amber) — the follower trades a second, smaller crossed instrument, when one exists.
Clicking again from amber returns to off, and the cycle repeats.
Why this changed
CME is launching a new, smaller size of futures contract — called E-nano — on 2026-08-24, for the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Dow, and Russell 2000 (symbols NES, NNQ, NDOW, and N2K). These sit below the existing micro contracts.
Previously, Cross Order could only map a leader's instrument to exactly one other instrument. That works fine for a mini/micro pair, but it can't represent three size tiers (mini, micro, and now nano) at once. 1.7.0.0 lets a follower cross into whichever tier it actually trades, instead of being limited to a single pair.
What stays the same
Most instrument families in Replikanto still only have two tiers (for example ES/MES, GC/MGC, or BTC/MBT). For those, Cross Order behaves exactly like before — a simple on/off toggle between red and green. You'll only see the new amber state on families that actually have a third, smaller tier available.
Safer price crossing
Some instruments price in different increments than their crossed counterpart — for example, an instrument might move in $0.25 steps while the instrument you're crossing into moves in $0.50 steps. Replikanto now automatically adjusts a copied order's price so it lands on a valid price for the destination instrument, so the follower's order isn't rejected by the broker for an invalid price.
This matters most for the new nano contracts, and it also already applies to a few existing crossed pairs, such as Gold (GC/MGC) crossed with 1oz Gold (1OZ), Crude Oil (CL/MCL) crossed with QM, Silver (SI/SIL) crossed with SIC, and VIX (VX) crossed with Micro VIX (VXM).
Things to know
- E-nano symbols aren't listed yet. As of this writing, the new E-nano contracts (NES, NNQ, NDOW, N2K) haven't launched in CME/NinjaTrader yet — they're expected 2026-08-24. Until NinjaTrader lists them, those instrument families will simply keep behaving like the old two-state toggle. Nothing breaks; the third tier just isn't available yet.
- VIX crossing needs a CFE-capable broker connection. Crossing between VX and Micro VIX (VXM) only works if your broker connection can reach Cboe CFE — for example, Interactive Brokers. NinjaTrader Brokerage does not support that exchange, so this pairing won't resolve on that connection type.
- Your existing settings keep working. After updating to 1.7.0.0, saved workspaces and follower settings that already had Cross Order turned on continue to work automatically — there's no manual migration step, and they resolve to the same instrument they always crossed into before.
