Replikanto Network Adapter setting: where and what to select

This article explains exactly where to find the Network > Adapter setting inside Replikanto, and which adapter to choose when you get there.

Where to find the Network Adapter setting

  1. Right-click anywhere inside the Replikanto window.
  2. Choose Properties from the context menu.
  3. Open the Network section.
  4. Find the Adapter field.

What to select

Select the adapter that is actually connected to your local network — usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi, depending on how this machine reaches your router. If your PC lists more than one adapter, pick the one that's currently active on your LAN rather than one that isn't in use.

Why this setting matters

Choosing the adapter updates the IP address Replikanto displays for this machine. That IP is what the other side of the connection needs:

  • When this machine is the follower (receiving trades), the leader machine registers this IP — along with the port, default 4547 — as a node to send trades to.
  • When this machine is the leader (sending trades), it needs the follower's correctly-selected-adapter IP to register that follower as a node.

Picking the wrong adapter shows an IP address that isn't reachable from the other machine, so the connection between leader and follower fails even though both sides look correctly configured.

Troubleshooting

If trades aren't copying between a leader and follower on the same local network, re-check the Network Adapter setting on both machines before looking elsewhere — this is one of the first things to verify, alongside firewall rules and the port number.
