Equity and balance protection features help manage your trading risk by automatically limiting losses or closing positions when your account reaches predefined thresholds. These risk management tools are typically configured at the broker level, not within trading platforms like NinjaTrader or copy trading software like Replikanto.
Where to Configure Balance Protection
Balance and equity protection settings can be managed through:
- Your broker's website or trading portal — Most brokers provide web-based interfaces where you can set daily loss limits, maximum drawdown limits, and other account protection rules
- RTrader Pro — If your account uses Rithmic as the data feed/provider, you may be able to configure certain protection features directly in the RTrader Pro application
Important Considerations
Not all brokers offer the same protection features. Availability varies significantly between brokers. Contact your broker directly to confirm:
- What specific equity/balance protection options they offer
- How to configure these settings in their platform
- What happens when a protection limit is triggered (position closure, trading halt, etc.)
- Any fees or restrictions associated with using protection features
Note: Replikanto does not include built-in equity/balance protection features. Risk management must be configured at the broker or account level to protect your trading capital.
